MSABI is an acronym for Maji Safi kwa Afya Bora Ifakara, a Swahili term meaning Safe Water for Better Health. Founded by GHD process engineer Dale Young, MSABI is a young and vibrant non-profit organisation, operating the largest rural water, sanitation and hygiene program in Tanzania. BBS proudly supports MSABI in identifying media opportunities and drafting strategic communication pieces that assist in identifying potential sponsors and grants.
As the most common chronic illness affecting 3,000 Australians nationally, Cystic Fibrosis carries out life-saving work across Australia every day. Our most recent work involved developing and promoting the national Great Aussie Breather campaign, which raises both awareness and funds for children and adults living with Cystic Fibrosis. BBS’ relationship with Cystic Fibrosis Queensland extends beyond communications and public relations work and includes hosting morning teas and other fundraisers to support their work in as many ways as possible.
As an office of animal lovers we proudly support the RSPCA by participating in the RSPCA Cup Cake Day. Our staff bake up a storm and sell our treats to colleagues, friends and other workers in our building, in 2013 we baked more than 100 cakes and raised $330.
Green Cross Australia works to educate and empower Australians to become more resilient to our changing environment, developing digital projects which encourage practical action by individuals and communities and at BBS, we’re on board. We loved helping Green Cross launch their innovative web portal ‘Harden Up’, their solar campaign ‘Every Rooftop’ and the national, rollout of the ‘Witness King Tides’ campaigns. We even won a Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) Award (Environmental category) for our work on the ‘Harden Up’ project.
Several BBS staff members are keen athletes and compete in a range of events throughout the year.
A fantastic event to contribute to research into a disease that has touched many of our lives. BBS has been participating in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea since 2011 and we even have the souvenir mugs in our kitchen to prove it!
