Jane Edwards is BBS’ Founder and Chairman and is the energy behind the business. Jane works closely with clients on a daily basis, managing critical issues and reputation matters. She also coaches and mentors senior executives.
Jane (Brumfield) Edwards AM BA ONM (Fr) FAICD FAIM, Hon Consul for France, is recognised as one of Australia’s leading businesswomen, with a distinguished professional public relations and media career spanning more than 35 years.
For more than 25 years’, Jane has led the BBS’ operations in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. She also serves on numerous public and private sector boards and is a regular public speaker on leadership and professional development.
A former Canberra journalist, Jane is a specialist in issues and reputation management and advises senior executives and community leaders on personal profiling and business-critical issues which require speed, nimble thinking and discretion.
She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) and an adjunct professor as The University of Queensland.
Jane maintains long standing personal relationships with experts and thought leaders across a broad range of industries around Australia and has high level contacts in the Queensland State and Federal Government.
Throughout her career, Jane’s unique management style has enabled her to handpick and mentor the best and brightest communications practitioners in the country. The ‘BBS Alumni’ now stretches from Buckingham Palace to the United Nations in New York with many accomplished former BBS staff now working as communications advisers to public figures and industry leaders around the world.
As well, Jane was the founding Chairman of the annual Premier’s Literary Awards, which flourished under her stewardship for twelve years, and was the first woman in 103 years to Chair the Board of Trustees of the Queensland Art Gallery.
